Color Me Beautiful!
It’s never too late to give your tired old beauty routine a facelift! Color is one of the most important factors in selecting a make-up that flatters.
In a nutshell, there are two Color palettes – warm and cool. If in doubt, soft, neutral colors are ideal as they enhance the complexion without being too intrusive.
Brunettes look great in warm colors of plum, cream, copper and taupe. Lips look best in rich tones of burgundy or plum. The darker the complexion the more dramatic the Color can be to include fuchsia, magenta, royal purple and blue with lips of rose-red, raspberry and wine.
Cool blondes suit tones of blue-grey, taupe, white, teal, pink and lavender with lips of pink gloss, blue-red, dusty rose or pink-plum. Warmer blondes however are best with shades of cream, mushroom, plum, or golden brown with lips painted in plum, ginger-brown, warm red or brown-pink.
Redheads find that natural shades of terracotta, golden copper, peach, moss green and grey suit their complexions best. Lipsticks should continue the earthy theme with tones of peach or brick-red.
Making A Day Of It
Lunch-time receptions are becoming more popular and brides are opting for a more casual approach to styling.
Half up hair styles often feature flowers instead of tiaras and the make-up is more subtle, creating a simple yet elegant style for the bride and her attendants.
